I survived the first day of school! My class is precious...and I only had a few minor mishaps. The first one happened this morning. I did a good job waking up on time and getting out the door. I think I even slept through the night without sleepwalking or having nightmares I overslept. I got to school at 6:30 (plenty early)and realized (when I saw the other teachers walking in), that I forgot to wear our school shirt...oops! I have no idea where my brain went when I was deciding what to wear for today. I even laid out my outfit last night (you have to do that on the first day of school). So I called Matt in a panic to see if he could meet me half way with a pair of pants and my lovely denim school shirt. I live 30 minutes away from the school and had to be their by 7:10...kids come at 7:15. I think I might have yelled at him a few times while he was digging in my closet claiming that he couldn't find the pants I wanted. I don't know why he couldn't find what I needed...my closet is always spotless. :) I also might have had a few panic attacks while I was waiting for him to meet me. I was worried he'd get stuck in traffic...get the wrong outfit completely and I'd be the only teacher in the school wearing a flowery skirt on the first day. I know...I'm paranoid. Well, I got my clothes and made it to school at 7:08. I calmed down...apologized to Matt and had a good day with the kids. It wasn't the end of the world and I would have survived in my flowery skirt...felt a little stupid, but survived.

I'll write more about my cute class later... I'm sure I'll have stories to tell, but right now I'm going to look over tomorrow's lesson plans and go to sleep...and probably have nightmares about wearing the wrong thing to school again.

Jenna,
Nothing like a hectic rush to start your first day. I'm glad Matt was able to save the day and bring you your shirt. Hope the rest of your mornings have been less hectic. And I'm so proud of how early you get up now! You win the award for that!
