Sweet kids...

I've really enjoyed being pregnant and surrounded by little kids every day. My class has been so excited about the pregnancy. Every day I receive countless belly touches, hugs, and kisses for the baby. I usually have several comments every morning about how much I've grown since the day before. The girls in my class were thrilled when they found out it's a girl. The boys were disappointed because they were planning on teaching my boy how to play baseball.

I've also already had several name suggestions...Isabella seems to be a favorite among the 2nd graders. Several weeks ago as the kids were walking in, I had a little girl ask, "Mrs. Cope, did you get your baby over the weekend?" Too bad it's not that easy. I also have a boy who enjoys telling me each week that I "don't look that fat yet." Actually, he hasn't said that in awhile. I'm definitely looking pregnant these days.

Today I had a tiny kindergarten girl come up and touch my belly... She was just staring at my stomach and finally asked, "What's that?" I told her it was my baby. And she looked up at me with the sweetest smile and said, "That's beautiful!" Then she asked, "Is she a boy or a girl?" I told her it was a little girl... And she said, "That's so precious."

Oh, that's so sweet. I remember being so excited when my 1st grade teacher was pregnant. Our whole class felt like it was another experiment...instead of just watching our class plant grow, we were watching our class baby grow!

I loved being pregnant while I was teaching too. (Even though I have never been more tired in my entire life...I still loved it). My kindergarteners loved touching baby Hudson and telling him bye after school. We took a field trip to a dinosaur museum and one of my Korean kids would put his hands to his mouth like he was telling a secret to my belly and ask Hudson if he liked dinosaurs, or if he liked science. It was so precious. Everyday Matt would ask me to tell him stories about my day.

Write the funny stuff down in your baby book. You'll be glad you have those memories to remember later on.

Oh, and something that worked so great for me. When my kids got really loud, I would tell them that they were hurting Hudson's ears. It worked every time!

I also loved being pregnant while teaching my 1st graders. I had one boy tell all the other kids in the class that he knew where babies come from and how they get there. I promply stopped that story from being told! Kids are precious...they will really enjoy meeting your sweet baby girl for the first time!!

Well it is precious! There is no job more rewarding than teaching and being around children all day. It's just too bad that the pay is not the greatest. I can't wait to see your pregnant belly. By this time, your mom should be in the air on her way to your house. I know you are excited. I wish I was there too. Love you babe.
